CultureBuddies in the News

Today our hometown newspaper ran a story about the CBs with a huge photo. The photo takes up half the page in the print version and is a little embarrassing. The story is mostly right with the facts but there are a few minor errors, for example, the Life Is Beautiful anecdote happened over 10 years ago and was the start of our traveling to see movies out of the area, not the start of our Broadway obsession. We DO in fact go to regional theater in this area, but the blog is mostly about the shows we travel to NYC to see.

It's great that you talk about all the shows you see in NY, but what about all the shows by great organizations in NH?

Peacock Players, Actorsingers, Madco, New Thalian, Stagecoach, etc...

These groups put on wonderful shows, and often the talent rivals those on Broadway.

Saw the article about you in the Telegraph. I noticed you listed the Wilton Town Hall Theater in your independent theater section. You should really check out their silent film series with live music if you haven't already. It happens the final Sunday of every month at 4:30 p.m.

I think you both have a great hobby! My best friend and I also take a trips down to NYC every two or three months, we always take the Greyhound to Port Authority, and try to catch as many shows as we can in a weekend. We went July 18th-20th, saw Xanadu, Rent, Hairspray, Some Americans Abroad and Altar Boyz. Five shows in three days, and that's how we like it!

I look forward to continue reading your blog...

Hi Ann and Leslie,

Fantastic article (Ann, you are a hoot and I can just hear your giddiness and excitement when reading your quotes...it probably comes from knowing you for so long).

Congrats and Kudos to two fabulous women on a journey of fun!

Looking forward to when you two get to be seat-fillers and even more so when you two become the next Siskel & Ebert of the theater world!

I saw you in the paper too. I read your previous post and thought you should have your own column in the New York Times as some sort of theatre or culture critic. I like how you document everything so well.
